Acting on a tip-off, the officials found a car parked in a banana grove in Gudalur last night and seized it along with the narcotic substance hidden inside the vehicle, they said.
One person was arrested in connection with the seizure of ganja worth Rs 1.22 crore in the illegal market.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a group was regularly smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala for sale in that state, police said.
