Gateman doesn't close level crossing, NE railway orders probe

North Eastern Railway has ordered an enquiry against a gateman who allegedly did not close the level crossing near Mant Gang Nahar on Mathura-Raya road after being instructed to do so.
The gateman yesterday placed two red flags but did not close the gate on the outskirts on Raya when Kasganj-Mathura passenger train was going by despite being instructed by the station master, an official said.
A departmental enquiry will be conducted and action would be taken against the gateman following the report, said Rajendra Singh, PRO North Eastern Railway Izatnagar.
Incidentally, no vehicle passed through the gate at that time.
