Geelani invited to Pakistan in August
"On July 11, a formal invitation to attend the conference was received in which the general secretary has insisted Geelani for his participation," Hurriyat spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said in a statement here today.
Although Geelani has been receiving several offers and invites to attend international conferences, but could not participate due to non-availability of travel documents, the spokesman said.
Regional Passport Office has so far failed to explain under which provisions, Geelani's travel documents are being withheld, Akbar said.
