4.65 lakhs cattle in 1245 registered cowsheds across the state would be benefited with the decision, Animal Husbandry Director Rajesh Mann said today.
"There used be lack of fodder in April to June for cattle in the Gaushala but now the CM has given a grant of Rs 32 and Rs 16 per day for adult and sub adult cattle respectively for three months of April, May and June," he said.
Besides, the same grant will be given for disabled cattle and it will continue for 12 months, he said, adding, the grant will be applicable from April 2013.
The benefit of free veterinary medicines scheme was hitherto available in camps only and the camps held occasionally, he added.
