Congress is Rajasthan is finding itself in a tight spot after recent rape allegations on its two leaders, including a former minister who had to resign due to the charges.
"These are personal allegations and will not cast any impact on the party. The (Rajasthan) government has taken several decisions which are being appreciated by the 'aam aadmi' (common man)," Gehlot said during a visit to Kota.
While former minister Babu Lal Nagar is accused of raping a woman at his official bunglow on September 11 on the pretext of giving her a job, Congress MLA Udai Lal Anjana has been booked for allegedly sexually exploiting a nearly 50-year-old woman since 1984 on the pretext of marriage.
Gehlot said that his government has taken various welfare decisions, launched flagship schemes and programmes and ensured that communal harmony is maintained in the state.
