Ghaziabad to hold 2nd car-free day on Thursday

The roadways department has agreed to ply 20 buses in the city carrying banners reading car-free-day

To encourage motorists to give up their cars for a day and use public transport, the city will hold a second car-free day on Thursday.

Chairman of RWA federation Colonel (retd) T P S Tyagi said RWA representatives will distribute pamphlets and flowers among car-owners to spread awareness about vehicular pollution.

A street play will be staged at Ramlila Maidan in Kavi Nagar around 8 am. The focus this time will be on Mohan Nagar, Vijay Nagar and Vasundhara, he said.
