Unseeded Egyptian Salma Hany beat Joshna 11-9, 11-13, 11-5, 11-9 while Dipika Pallikal went down fighting to 13th seed Olivia Blatchford of USA.
The American won 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 12-14, 11-8.
