Gil Bellows joins 'Ascension'
Brian Van Holt leads the cast of 'Ascension' as the captain of a 50-year mission to populate a new world, reported Ace Showbiz.
The mission becomes compromised and the true motives of those involved are called into question when one member of the exhibition is murdered.
Bellows has signed on to play the son of the Ascension mission's founder.
The 47-year-old actor has most recently appeared in 'Vegas' and 'Smallville'.
Former 'Battlestar Galactica' actress Tricia Helfer is also returning to Syfy for the miniseries.
'Ascension' is expected to premiere in the autumn.
