According to Giri, she had left her office in Qutub Institutional Area around 6 PM last Saturday when she came across a group of men "molesting" a girl.
She stopped a PCR van which was passing by from the area and asked its personnel to save the girl but she was told that the vehicle was rushing their "boss" somewhere. Another policeman asked her to file an FIR in the police station.
Delhi Police top brass has initiated an inquiry into Giri's allegations after she wrote an email in this regard to the Delhi Police Commissioner. Police however, have denied that it was an incident of molestation and claimed that Giri misunderstood the situation.
"Two girls and two boys were going somewhere on two separate scooters when the boys vehicle had hit a roadside stall. Someone rushed the injured boy to hospital while a brawl ensued after the accident between the remaining boy, the two girls and the locals," said a police official.
