Girl attempts suicide after being scolded by teacher

Insulted by her teacher for not wearing her uniform, a class XI student allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into a canal.
A case was lodged by the victim's parents yesterday against teacher Sanjiv Kumar, police said.
The girl was saved from drowning by locals who spotted her jumping into the Ganga canal here. She has been hospitalised for minor injuries, police said.
The accused teacher is absconding.
