Girl shot dead allegedly by stalkers

A teenaged girl was today shot dead outside her home here allegedly by youths who had been stalking her.
The assailants came on a motorbike and shot the Class X girl when she was returning home from tuition, police said.
She was shot in the head on the road in front of her house at Subhas Colony in Falakata area and died on the spot.
The attackers fled the scene and later the police arrested two persons in connection with the murder, sources said.
The girl's father lodged an FIR saying she was shot by Tapas Das alias Khudu who had been stalking her for quite sometime.

Police said Tapas is a history sheeter and was previously charged with murder and extortion.
While Tapas is absconding, the two arrested are his accomplices, the sources said.
