Noted Hindu orator Kirit Bhaiji today pushed forward the suggestion of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to declare Bhagvad Gita as national scripture saying the book should not be declared at national level but also at international level.
"The Gita is undisputed, and is accepted by every one in the society. It never dealt with communalism, and questions raised by Arjun in Gita is never a subject of war," he told a press conference here.
"It has 700 'shloks' (couplets in sanskrit) that does not deal with either Hindu word or religion affinity... It deals with 'science of behaviour'", said the popular Hindu orator, who has spoken on over 150 Hindu topics ranging from Ramayan, Mahabharat, and Bhagvad Gita.
Bhaiji, is going to hold 'Ram Katha' for next nine days here, said "the Gita categorically speaks of two words 'dharam aur karam', and guides human being to take path of success and progress, hence it should be declared as international scripture."
Asked about the issue being politicised, he said the nation and people would progress as long as Rajniti (politics) takes shelter under 'dharam', and "if it is reverted there would be sense of insecurity every where".
According to him, Gita covers all subjects of Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Economics, Social Science, and Science.
Pressing for the Centre to declare Bhagvad Gita as a 'Rashtriya Granth' (national scripture), Swaraj had said only a formality remained to be done in this regard which trigged a controversy.
