Gorkha Janmukti Morcha today described its differences with the Mamata Banerjee government as "misunderstanding" and said that matter has been "settled".
"Our differences with the Mamata Banerjee government was just a misunderstanding and the entire matter has been settled," GJM General Secretary Roshan Giri told reporters after a meeting with the West Bengal Chief Minister.
"Our main aim is to make the GTA functional complying with the agreement," Giri, who recently met JMM chief Shibu Soren in Ranchi, said.
"The meeting with the CM was a courtesy call. Our party chief asked us to enquire about the CM's health," he said.
On the new principal secretary of the GTA after the removal of Soumitra Mohan, the Darjeeling district Magistrate with whom the GJM was unhappy, Giri said "The name of the principal secretary will be announced by GTA chief executive Bimal Gurung from the list of officials sent by the state government."
Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee would attend a meeting of the review committee in Darjeeling on May 13.
"Prior to that the GJM leadership will have a meeting with Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra on April 30," Giri added.
He said that the West Bengal CM was invited to visit Darjeeling.
Giri was accompanied by party MLAs Harka Bahadur Chhetri and Rohit Sharma.
