A glass outer cover of a halogen bulb in the visitors gallery of the airport today broke due to a spike in voltage injuring three men, a top official said.
"There was a sudden spike in voltage and it led to the breakage of a glass outer cover of a halogen bulb in the visitors gallery of the airport," Director, Chennai Airport, Deepak Shastri told PTI.
"Three men sustained very minor injuries and they were taken to a hospital," he added.
Asked if it formed part of the ceiling, he denied it and said, "in a car's headlight you have a bulb and outside of it a glass cover, this is similar to that," he said.
