"This historic occasion will be marked in our Archdiocese by a double event: a parish celebration in all our parishes on the day of her canonisation, i.E. On September 4, a Sunday, and a diocesan celebration, with representatives from all our parishes, at the Cathedral Church in Old Goa on September 13, the day of her funeral (in 1997)," the Archbishop said.
Mother Teresa will be made an official saint of the Roman Catholic Church on Sunday, 19 years after her death.
He also recalled visit of Mother Teresa to Goa on two occasions.
He said Mother Teresa's life and caring service have brought so much joy and relief to people from all walks of life.
