Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar Monday unveiled a plaque in his office in Porvorim announcing the start of work on a school complex near here.
Parrikar is suffering from a pancreatic ailment and has been receiving medical treatment since he arrived in the state in October last year following hospitalisation at New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
A statement from the chief minister's office said he formally unveiled a plaque announcing the start of work on the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Vidya Sankul at Cujira.
The works will include creation of a new access road, improved parking lot and sewage treatment plant, the CMO statement added.
Goa Assembly Speaker Pramod Sawant, Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte, Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation chairman Deepak Prabhu Pawaskar and vice chairman Siddharth Kunkolienkar were present on the occasion at the Secretariat, it added.
Parrikar also launched single window clearance system of the state's Investment Promotion Board, a special purpose vehicle formed to attract industrial investment, the release said.
