"Vijai Sardessai (Independent legislator) had no business to rush to well of the House when I was replying to a question," Parsekar said reacting to the din in House on the first day of the Budget session.
Almost all opposition MLAs, except Leader of Opposition Pratapsingh Rane, rushed to the well alleging scam in allotment of beach cleanliness contract.
They targeted state Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar who could not attend the session due to health issues.
The issue of alleged scam was raised by Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte during the Question Hour.
Clarifying on allegations, Parsekar said, "The amount of money paid to the contractor was increased because work was more".
He said cleanliness on the beaches has improved after the new contractor was hired.
"The department has inspected the beaches 603 times during a year to keep a tab on the work," Parsekar added.
