Demanding a police action against Sadhvi Saraswati, who had caused a row demanding that beef-eaters be hanged, Goa Deputy Speaker and BJP leader Michael Lobo today said the government should ban people of her ilk who give hate speeches from entering the state.
Participating in a discussion on the motion of thanks on the Governor's address in the House, Lobo said the government should take action against those people who give hate speeches.
Addressing the All India Hindu Convention last month as one of the speakers, the Sadhvi had said those who consume beef should be hanged.
"We should set a precedent. An FIR should be filed against anyone giving hate speeches in the state. They must be called to the police headquarters.
Why do people like the Sadhvi come to Goa and make such a statement? Police should act against her, or someone else will come here and say something else. Who all would we be able to stop? Such type of people should be banned from entering Goa," he said.
The BJP leader said, "We have to have a full control on all these things. We should not allow this. Those who want to disturb Goa, they have no place here".
