General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lt Gen Subrata Saha today met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra here and discussed the security issues related to the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.
"Lt Gen Saha called the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and briefed him about the obtaining security scenario and security issues relating to the forthcoming elections to the state legislature," an official spokesman said.
He said the Corps commander also briefed the Governor about the conclusion of the time-bound operation to completely clear Tosamaidan firing range, in central Kashmir's Budgam district, of any exploded shells and the restoration status of Badami Bagh Cantonment in the aftermath of the last month's floods.
The Governor complimented Lt Gen Saha for the promptness with which the entire Tosamaidan had been fully cleaned and cleared for being developed as an attractive tourist spot, the spokesman said.
