'Godmother' plots Dev's journey in Buno Haansh

Portraying a lady don, who seduces the law enforcers to run her drug cartel in 'Buno Haansh' traversing the two countries, 'Ramdhanu' protagonist Gargi Roy Chowdhury says Amol aka Dev was the real cog in her wheel.
"This is a never before character etched out in this genre of non-mainstream cinema. In keeping with the subject of inter-state and international drug cartel," the national award winner told PTI here.
Gargi, who wowed the audiences as a beleagured mom in blockbuster 'Ramdhanu' on children's admission racket, said "From the heroine in Kaushikda's Khad to this one, I think an actress can don many masks and look her part in each one."

"As a keen observant I went by Tonyda's script and brief and didnot watch any film on the same genre Bandit Queen or likewise. The rest was taken care of by costume and make-up and his pampering and the team camaradarie which helped in extracting 200 per cent," she said.
Describing Dev as an intelligent actor, Gargi gushed, "Dev looks as much beautiful as any young woman. And being a mainstream film hero to shift genre is not easy as masala films demand a new discipline."
Aniruddha, who described the four women characters Tanusree Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty and method-actor-mentor Sohag Sen besides Gargi as his muses at the Rendezvous said female characters serve an important purpose.

"Portraying a wide spectrum of roles that the protagonist bumps into in course of his journey through life," he said at the 'Bikers' Cafe Rendezvous.

"Being tech savvy, cinema savvy and well versed with all schools of acting, Dev and Srabonti took to method acting like fish to water at the workshop along with others in cast," Sohag Sen, having been part of numerous film workshops of small time and seasoned directors including Aparna Sen and late Rituparna Ghosh, said.
"It also happened since I didnot see Rangbaaz or Paglu or any other masala flick you are referring to and didnot have any hang-ups," she said.

Bunohaansh, produced by Reliance Entertainment, will be released on August 15.
