Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today asked the new recruits of the state civil and allied services to devote themselves to nation building for making the society a better place to live in.
Addressing a two-week joint induction training course for probationers of ACS and Allied Services 2015 at Assam Administrative Staff College here, Gogoi said "the young officers must be sensitive and faithful to be able to feel the pulse of the people for serving them better."
There has been a sea change in the dynamics of administration in the state since 2001 and administrative delivery system had improved considerably, he said.
In this context, the trainees must be just and uphold impartiality and work as a unified force to render optimum benefit to the people, the chief minister said.
"Future of Assam depends on you, inculcate administrative virtues in you, develop allegiance to the Constitution, the country and serve the people with a sense of devotion," he said.
Earlier, Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia administered oath to the officers. The two-week induction training will continue up to September 12 next.
