Gold jewellery worth Rs 3 crore seized at Goa airport
Press Trust of India Panaji Gold jewellery worth Rs 3 crore was today seized at the Goa International Airport in Dabolim , customs officials said.
10 kg gold jewellery was concealed in plastic packets and was found under the seat of a Qatar Airways flight which landed here from Doha, the officials said.
The gold was found during a flight maintenance operation after passengers had alighted from the plane.
"No one came forward to claim the packets," a customs spokesperson said.
The airline crew as well as the maintenance staff have been questioned in this connection, he added.
On October 30, customs officials had seized gold worth Rs 95 lakh from a flight between Kuala Lumpur and Goa.
