Gold ornaments looted from jewellery workshop

A group of armed men today looted gold ornaments from a jewellery workshop at Balipadara in Odisha's Ganjam district, police said.
The looters came in two motorcycles and fired in the air to terrorise people in the area before storming into the workshop by breaking its door, Sub Divisional Police Officer (Bhanjanagar) R.Ch Sethi said.
They looted some gold ornaments from the workshop which was closed, he said adding nobody was hurt in the incident.
"The exact value of the looted gold was yet to be estimated," said SDPO.
Vehicles moving in the area were thoroughly checked and patrolling intensified as part of the exercise to nab the looters.

"We have intimated police stations of nearby areas and started patrolling to arrest the miscreants," he said.
