Gold prices weakened by Rs 225 per 10 grams at the domestic bullion market here today following lower demand from stockists and retailers.
Elsewhere, silver also slipped owing to subdued demand by industrial users.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) dropped by Rs 225 to end at Rs 30,820 per 10 grams from Thursday's closing level of Rs 31,045.
Pure gold (99.9 purity) also fell by the same amount to finish at Rs 30,970 per 10 grams as compared to Rs 31,195 previously.
Silver (.999 fineness) declined by Rs 290 per kg to Rs 38,480 as against Rs 38,770 yesterday.
