The Haryana government will illuminate all government offices and heritage buildings of the state from October 24 to November 7, as part of its golden jubilee celebrations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function at Gurugram on November 1. All Cabinet ministers of the Manohar Lal Khattar-led state government will be present on this occasion.
An official spokesman said as part of the celebrations, all government offices and heritage buildings of the state would be illuminated from "sunset to sunrise" for two weeks from October 24 to November 7.
Haryana's Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh said development projects involving an investment of Rs 10,000 crore would begin in Gurugram.
The spokesman said the Urban Local Bodies department would also beautify entry points to areas of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipalities with the assistance of Forest and Horticulture departments.
Ten flyovers would also be decorated, he said.
Meanwhile, besides the icons of Haryana, Chief Ministers of other states, their ministers and people from different walks of life would be invited to the inaugural function of 'Swarna Jayanti Utsav' in Gurugram on November 1.
Haryana was carved out as as a separate state on November 1, 1966.
Singh said a number of steps were being taken to improve connectivity between Gurugram and Delhi as well as Jaipur.
The Dwarka Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) would be developed as 16-lane road "and it would be the widest road in the country", he said.
"There is also a plan to extend Metro in Gurugram up to Subhash Chowk. The people would also get Metrino, an improved alternative for public transportation.
"The Manesar-Palwal Highway has already been opened and the highway between Manesar and Kundli would be made functional within next 13 months. A Rs 700-crore elevated flyover would be constructed between South City and Badshahpur (in Gurugram)," the minister added.
