"As political parties and people across the nation celebrate the 124th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, one of India's most important and charismatic leaders, Google search trends reflect his timeless relevance and popularity and shows him to be the 3rd most searched historic personality, after Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru," a Google India release said.
"Google search trend analysis highlights the significant and continued rise in search interest around Dr Ambedkar both from India and globally over the past decade."
The architect of the Constitution takes the third spot after Gandhi and Nehru in terms of search queries online.
In terms of search interest from within India, queries on him continue to gain significant search interest from states such as Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra, Delhi, Puducherry, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan and Karnataka, the release said.
Bose and Patel, however, figure after these three leaders on Google search trends.
The US-based internet behemoth has created the doodle with Ambedkar on its homepage which has already garnered over 5,00,000 hits so far, the release added.
