US-based GOQii has launched a new service 'GOQii Heart Care' to focus on cardiovascular health.
Under the service, GOQii will help consumers connect with cardiovascular specialists through its application and a new GOQii tracker that measures heart rate.
For the new service, GOQii has partnered Max Hospital.
"Today, too many devices are generating too much data which is essentially junk if not analysed and acted upon. Our solution is a one stop solution that tracks and analyses data generated by the Heart Rate trackers and can connect the GOQii user to doctor who can help make sense of the data," GOQii CEO and founder Vishal Gondal told PTI.
He added that to use the new feature, GOQii users have to share their health data and heart rate data via the new GOQii tracker with the GOQii doctor for his analysis.
The doctor will monitor this data and provide specific inputs to the users on how to maintain good heart health.
"In specific cases, if the GOQii doctor feels the need, he or she can help users consult with the heart specialists at Max Hospital and other partner hospitals," he said.
With this new service, GOQii aims to create the world's leading health eco-system that connects users to leading professionals in the fitness and healthcare space, Gondal added.
The heart specialist service, however, is not a replacement for a regular doctor and does not apply for any emergency medical or chronic situations.
Last year, GOQii had launched its second generation smart band with features like doctor consultation, diagnostics, auto sleep detection, integrated charger and NFC contactless payments.
The service, along with the new GOQii Heart Rate tracker, will be available at a subscription Rs 2,999 for six months and 3,999 for 12 months, respectively. It will be available on Amazon from February 14.
The company, which is backed by angel investors like Shriram Nene and his wife and Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene and Neeraj Arora (WhatsApp), offers a fitness tracker band coupled with a personal coach.
According to the IDC, the wearable market in India saw 41.9 per cent growth in June 2016 quarter (over 5.67 lakh units) over the previous quarter.
GOQii led the market with 16.1 per cent share, followed by Xiaomi (10.3 per cent), Fitbit (6.7 per cent), Garmin (1.4 per cent) and Huawei (one per cent).
