Government employee shot dead in Kashmir

A government employee was shot dead allegedly by unidentified gunmen in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district today, police said here.
"Today forenoon some militants fired upon one Mohammad Altaf Sheikh at Bus Stand in Sopore. He died on the spot," a police spokesperson said.
The victim was working as a Pharmacist in the health department of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, police said, adding that, the motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
