Govt allocates services in record 40 days

Candidates who have qualified for the civil services examination have been allocated central government services in record time of 40 days.
The services were allocated on the basis of final results of the civil services examination, 2014, declared by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on July 4, 2015, the Department of Personnel and Training said.
"DoPT has done service allocation to IAS, IPS, IFS and other Group 'A' and Group 'B' services of central government in a record time of 40 days. In the first iteration, 1,034 candidates including 175 IAS, 139 IPS, 28 IFS and 632 Group 'A' services, have been allocated to various services," a release issued by Ministry of Personnel issued today said.
Now, candidates allocated to Group 'A' services can be nominated for foundation course commencing from September 7 at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie as per the policy.
A total number of 1,236 candidates, including 590 in General category, 354 belonging to Other Backward Class, 194 from Scheduled Caste and 98 from Scheduled Tribe, were recommended for appointment to various central government services by the UPSC.
The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC annually in three stages-- preliminary, mains and interview-- to select candidates for the elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
