Addressing a conference on capacity building of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) 2017, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi emphasised that the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and SDRFs work together on disaster risk reduction.
He assured the state representatives every possible help for making SDRF a "self-contained response force."
The home secretary asked NDRF and SDRFs to educate the community and adopt new technologies to tackle the emerging challenges besides their primary role, an official release said.
He underlined the strengthening of SDRF through specialised training and equipping it with latest gadgets for prompt and timely response to disaster.
