Govt employee held taking R 30,000 bribe from farmer

A man posted as a team leader under the Union Government's Integrated Water Area Management programme here, was today caught red-handed by the Lokayukta sleuths for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a farmer for clearing his payment.
The team leader, identified as Kamlesh Chourasia, had demanded Rs 61,000 bribe from the complainant for clearing his dues for constructing stop dam under the scheme, Ujjain Lokayukta Inspector Dinesh Rawat said.
When the complainant informed the Lokayukta Police about it, a trap was laid and Chourasia was caught taking Rs 30,000 bribe from the complainant at Kannod in Dewas district.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him and further investigations are on.
