Addressing a press conference after a cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that as per the new decision, applicants can now self attest their certificates, except those that require the mandatory attestation procedure.
"With this decision, the original documents are to be produced only at the final stage", he said.
On other decisions, Chandy said the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project would be implemented in nine coastal districts.
A steering committee would be constituted to administer, implement and review the project as per the guidelines of World Bank, he said.
The college will offer courses in B Com, BBA and BA English, he added.
