A junior government official was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, Anti-Corruption Bureau said today.
Praveen Shriram Khanderay, working as a draftman in Dhule's urban planning department, had demanded Rs 50,000 from a complainant for sanctioning final layout and declaring some plots as non-agriculture, ACB said in a release issued here.
Based on Gyaneshwar Ananda Bhamre's complaint, ACB laid a trap last evening and caught Khanderay while he was allegedly accepting the money from Bhamre's PA in his office at Dhule, the release said.
A case has been registered against the accused, it added.
