"We are thinking of launching internet green channel and also provide one hour programme on environment on 'DD Kisan' channel," Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said at an event on waste management.
The minister said that though he wishes to have a dedicated television channel on environment but such a venture would require huge investment.
Meanwhile, the government recently launched a dedicated television channel for farmers called 'DD Kisan' to provide information about best agri-practices.
Stating that media has a big role in creating awareness about envirnoment issues, Javadekar said, "Media has an active role to play in creating awareness about clean India initiative and other issues related to environment."
