Govt schools perform better than pvt schools in CBSE XII exams

Government schools have fared better than private schools in the CBSE class XII examinations, the results of which were declared today.
The central government-run Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) school students have scored a pass percentage of 95.43 per cent, much above the national average of 83.05 while the pupils of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), which are established in rural areas, have done even better with with a pass percentage of 96.73.
The pass percentage of over 1,000 KVS schools is 95.43 per cent, an improvement over the previous year's figure of 94.72 per cent.
Meanwhile, the pass percentage of the JNV students in the examinations is 96.69 per cent, a marginal decline from its 96.82 per cent figure last year.
Other government schools scored a pass percentge of 83.85 while government-aided schools showed a 85.75 pass percentage.
Independent private schools showed a pass percentage of 82.40 which is better than their score last year of 81.08, but still behind many government schools.
According to data released by the CBSE, the performance of students in 120 foreign schools was also better than the national average, with a pass percentage of 94.43.
