SFIO, which is probing many high profile cases including Saradha chit funds scam, is grappling with shortage of staff.
The multi-disciplinary organisation comes under the Corporate Affairs Ministry.
Applications have been invited for as many as 69 posts that include positions of additional/joint director in the areas of forensic audit, capital market, investigation and financial transactions, according to a government announcement.
There is also a post of deputy director (investigation).
Besides, SFIO has vacancies for 16 senior assistant directors in the areas of banking, capital markets, corporate law, forensic audit, taxation, customs & central excise.
The vacancies, to be filled up on deputation basis, is across SFIO offices in the national capital, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
In December last, the Ministry had informed the Parliament that it was holding consultations on amending norms that would allow it to hire permanent staff for SFIO.
Currently, recruitment at SFIO is done mainly on deputation basis from other government agencies/PSUs as per the decision of the cabinet at the time of its constitution.
So far, SFIO has filed prosecutions against companies, including Global Trust Bank, Goldquest International Pvt Ltd, Questnet Enterprises India Pvt Ltd, Jayant Vitamins Ltd, City Limouzines (India) Ltd, and Yusuf Properties Pvt Ltd, among others, the Ministry had informed the Parliament last month.
