"The ministry will offer financial help of Rs 5 lakh to 1,000 sports talents who will be selected every year through a transparent and open process with the help of the portal," Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel told reporters here.
The portal is planned to be launched soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.
"The portal will make it easier for anyone to upload his or her bio-data and video and get considered for the financial assistance from our ministry," the minister said.
The scheme will consider talents aged 8 years and more and extend them financial assistance for a period of eight years, Goel added.
