Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Kalraj Mishra said during Question Hour that National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) has been organising Rapid Incubation Training Programme on a pilot basis.
More people are expected to be provided training under skill development initiatives, he said.
Under the Rapid Incubation Training Programme, more than 7,400 people were trained in the last two financial years. In the current financial year till end of June, 791 people have been trained across states, he said.
Over 1,50,000 people have been trained under skill development programmes, Mishra said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry is implementing the 'Technology and Quality Upgradation Support to MSME' scheme to support units that intend to implement energy efficient and eco-friendly technology.
"Under this scheme, government provides financial support to the extent of 25 per cent of the project cost towards implementation of energy efficient technology subject to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh," Mishra said.
To implement the scheme, government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six banks -- SIDBI, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and Canara Bank.
