Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said his governments top priority is to develop villages having more population of tribals and schedule castes.

It is being ensured that government schemes are reaching to these areas...the concept of Adivasi Vikas Samiti and Gram Vikas Samiti have been envisaged, an official release said quoting Das.

The samitis are comprised of the people of the villages, and they will decide small developmental schemes in the village itself, Das said.

Eighty per cent of the amount of the plan will be given to the samiti, Das said, adding villagers will spend the remaining 20 per cent through shramdan (labour).

In the first phase, construction of dobha (small ponds), wells, ponds, check dams should be decided by the samities. The amounts would be deposited in the bank accounts of the samities.

The samities, which have been constituted, should decide this between May 16 and May 23 through meetings, Das said.

He gave this directions in a meeting at the Jharkhand Mantralaya in connection with Gram Vikas Samiti and Adivasi Vikas Samiti, the release said.

Now middle men would be freed following the setting up of Adivasi Vikas Samiti and Gram Vikas Samiti, he said, adding the unemployed youth of the villages would get employment.
