Govt will continue to support welfare schemes in state: UP CM

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav today underlined the development work done under his government assured that he will continue to support welfare programmes in the state for youths and elderly persons.
The chief minister was in Shamshabad town of Agra where, while addressing a gathering, he claimed that development graph of his state under SP regime has gone up as the government was working in all fields.
The Samajwadi Party government had taken care of the interests of all sections, notably students, farmers and women and it would focus on welfare schemes -- health to pension schemes for the elderly.
He said the state was well on way to consolidating gains of the economic measures to attract investments.
The power supply had improved and in the coming days, rural areas would be getting electricity for 16 hours and urban upto 22 hours, Yadav said.
The 2017 elections for the assembly will see the youth playing a critical role, therefore there was need for more sops to the young voters, he said, adding, we are trying to promote industrial development to expand job opportunities.
The CM said work on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway had begun and farmers were being given four times the compensation for their land.
