Govt will not compromise on rights of employees: Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said the state government has right on Hyderabad for next 10 years and that it will not compromise on the rights of its employees.
The TDP chief was addressing a special meeting of ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Zila Parishad chairpersons, district president and general secretaries of the party here today.
On the occasion, Naidu said that as per Section 8 of AP Reorganisation Act, the Governor is in-charge of the law and order in Hyderabad and also appealed to the latter to take charge of it.
Hyderabad is the common capital for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the first 10 years post bifurcation.

The Chief Minister said for the first year, according to the bifurcation Act, both AP and Telangana have to settle the issues in an amicable manner, later from second year onwards, the Central government will take the responsibility.
"We will fight according to Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganisation Act on the share of our properties and employees. If necessary, we will also approach the courts to seek justice.

"The state government has right on Hyderabad for next 10 years and it will not compromise on the rights of its employees," he said.
On the upcoming festival Godavari Pushkaram next month, he said the government will run a campaign from July 1 to July 26.

He appealed to people to attend Godavari Pushkaralu in large numbers and celebrate the existence of river Godavari which is an integral part of the lives of people of AP.
The excess water from Godavari will be diverted to river Krishna, which will be further linked to drought-prone Rayalaseem region, he said.
Naidu said the government intends to utilise at least 1,000 TMC out 3,000 TMC excess water that flows from Godavari into sea as waste.
The Godavari river water linkage to Krishna will be done through Pattiseema irrigation project to commence from August.
