Earlier this year, the 50-year-old "Dabangg" actor confirmed he will be a part of the Marathi biopic, which stars Riteish in the titular role.
"It was extremely gracious of him (Salman) to have offered to be a part of this without knowing exactly what part he is going to play. I respect that faith he has in me and our friendship," Riteish said in an interview.
Salman, who did a cameo in the "Housefull 3" star's Marathi film "Lai Bhaari", had said his role in the upcoming biopic won't be confined to a brief appearance.
The 37-year-old actor, however, said bringing the life and times of the Maratha warrior will be a daunting task and he considers it big responsibility.
"It's a huge responsibility to make a film on that personality. Because it is not only a story but there are lots of emotions attached to that personality and the life. It's not that you're talking about a forgotten hero.
The biopic will be helmed by National Award winning director Ravi Jadhav.
Riteish, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of his next Bollywood film "Banjo". The musical drama, which releases tomorrow, is helmed by Jadhav and also stars Nargis Fakhri.
