Gram, its dal climb by up to Rs 700

Prices of gram and its dal spurted by up to Rs 700 per quintal at the wholesale market today following upsurge in demand from retailers.
However, moth eased on lack of buying support.
Traders said uptick in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up gram and its dal prices.
In the national capital, gram climbed to Rs 10,000-10,200 from previous level of Rs 9,300-9,800 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality surged by Rs 700 each to Rs 10,800-11,100 and Rs 11,200-11,300 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, moth slipped to Rs 3,800-4,200 from previous level of Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal on lack of buying support.
