Gram and its dal drifted lower by Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to fall in demand from retailers against sufficient stocks position.
Kabli gram and masoor also ended lower on lack of demand.
Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers at prevailing levels, adequate stocks position mainly pulled down gram and a few other pulses prices.
They said, however, trading activity remained restricted due to crash crunch following the government banning Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes.
In the national capital, gram suffered the most by falling Rs 500 to Rs 9,500-10,000 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 10,300-10,600 and Rs 10,700-10,800 per quintal.
Kabli gram small variety also eased by Rs 300 to Rs 9,800-10,200 per quintal.
Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani followed suit and quoted lower at Rs 4700 each instead of Rs 4900 each per 35 kg bag.
Masoor small and bold too declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,250-5,350 and Rs 5,300-5,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 5,700-6,200 and Rs 5,800-6,300 per quintal.
