Gram Pradhan poll candidate shot dead in UP

A 40-year-old candidate for the upcoming village head polls was shot dead today by unidentified persons near Meerpur Tirwah village in Saidpur area of Ghazipur district.
Dinkar Yadav was shot dead by some bike-borne youths, killing him on the spot, police said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is underway, they said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
