The 3D film, which opened in theaters in the US on October 4, has already broken records in North America by becoming the top October opening of all-time and the best three-day showing for Bullock and Clooney, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Directed by Alfonso Cuaron, the film follows two astronauts who are stranded is space after their shuttle is damaged.
Bullock, who won the best actress Oscar for her role in 'The Blind Side, is gathering Oscar buzz again for her performance as a novice astronaut.
