He told the probationers that their responsibilities are tremendous and the complexity of their task is increasing in view of increasing defence expenditure.
The President said officers of IDAS discharge a very important responsibility.
"Ensuring that wasteful expenditure does not take place is a great task," a Rashtrapati Bhavan press release quoted him as saying.
Mukherjee said he had no doubt that the training which the probationers were undergoing would not only make them responsible but also responsive.
A group of 23 probationers of IDAS called on the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan. These probationers are presently undergoing training at headquarters office here of the defence accounts department - Controller General of Defence Accounts.
