The Greek army said today that a search was under way for a helicopter that disappeared from radars during a scheduled flight in northwestern Greece, with five people on board.
The Huey UH-1H helicopter left early today from Larissa, in the centre of the country, heading toward Kozani, army spokesman Colonel Nikolaos Fanios said.
"Three pilots and two other soldiers" were on board, Fanios told AFP.
Two military helicopters and a plane operated by the firefighting service were participating in the rescue operation.
