GSTN appoints Teamwork Communications as official PR agency

The GST Network -- the company providing IT backbone for Goods and Services Tax -- has appointed Teamwork Communications Group as its official communications partner.
The responsibility of Delhi-based Teamwork Communications include dissemination of messages and information relevant to the taxpayers country-wide.
"As our official partner, the Group would ensure effective communication and education of taxpayers and other stakeholders both pre and post GST rollout phase," it said, quoting Navin Kumar, Chairman, Goods & Services Tax Network (GSTN).
"As the communications partner, we are conscious of our role in disseminating the right information to citizens," Kamal Narayan Omer, Managing Director, Teamwork Communications Group, said.

The GSTN has set up a portal equipped to handle as many as 2.6 billion transactions every month. GST, which will subsume indirect taxes like excise duty and VAT, will be rolled out from July 1.
