Guar gum prices dipped by Rs 100 to Rs 7,776 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators cut down their bets, triggered by weak export demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guar gum for delivery in July tumbled by Rs 100 or 1.27 per cent to Rs 7,776 per quintal, with an open interest of 14,775 lots.
Guargum for delivery in most-traded June contract too slipped by Rs 93 or 1.20 per cent to Rs 7,630 per quintal, with the business turnover of 41,105 open lots.
Marketmen players said besides muted export demand, increased arrivals of guar seed from growing regions amid reduced offtake by guar gum makers, dampened trading sentiments.
